How We Perform Temperature Calibration — Methods and Techniques?
We utilise a number of different processes to perform temperature calibration on a wide range of instruments both in our laboratory and in the field. Digital recorder and thermometer calibration takes place on a Fluke multi-process calibrator. Pyrometer calibration, thermocouple calibration, and some recorder and thermometer calibration are completed using dry-wells and liquid-baths with temperature ranges from -45°C to 1500°C. Surface probes and thermometers are calibrated on special hot plates.
Temperature calibration is usually a five-point inspection, unless more inspection points are requested by the customer. For ovens, furnaces, and large-volume temperature systems, we conduct a full uniformity survey to identify hot spots, cold spots, and deviations across the working volume.
